Terms of Service
By booking a consultation or tattoo appointment with Phantom Avenue Tattoo Studio, you agree to the policies on this page. We tried to keep it short.
Consultations
- Consultations are free. We will not charge for a sit-down conversation about your idea.
- Walk-in consultations are welcome during studio hours, but booked consultations get priority.
Deposits and booking
- A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a tattoo appointment. The deposit goes toward the final cost of the tattoo.
- Deposit amount varies based on the size of the booking. You will be told the exact amount during your consultation.
- Custom designs are drafted by your artist between consultation and appointment. The deposit covers that design time.
Cancellations and reschedules
- 48-hour notice: reschedule with no penalty. Your deposit moves to the new date.
- Less than 48 hours, or no-show: the deposit is forfeited. A new deposit is required to rebook.
- If you need to reschedule, contact the studio as early as possible. We'll always try to accommodate genuine emergencies.
Age and consent
- You must be 18 or older to be tattooed without parental consent.
- We do not tattoo anyone under 16 under any circumstances.
- 16 and 17 year olds may be tattooed only with a parent or legal guardian present, with signed consent, and at the studio's discretion.
- Government-issued photo ID is required for all clients.
Studio policies
- Arrive sober. We will not tattoo anyone who appears intoxicated.
- Eat a real meal 1 to 2 hours before your appointment. Hydrate.
- Friends and partners are welcome but limited to one guest per client to keep the studio comfortable.
- No children under 16 accompanying clients during long sessions.
Touch-ups
- Free touch-ups are offered within 6 months of the original session if needed and if you followed aftercare instructions.
- Touch-ups required because of sun exposure, picking, or failure to follow aftercare are billed at our standard hourly rate.
Aftercare
We will give you aftercare instructions verbally and in writing at the end of your session. The full aftercare guide is also on this site. Healing is your responsibility once you leave the studio. Following the instructions is required for the touch-up policy above to apply.
Health and safety
- Phantom Avenue follows Alberta Health Services regulations for personal services. All needles are single-use, sterile, and disposed of after each session.
- Disclose any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or pregnancy at consultation. Some conditions may require a physician's clearance.
Limitation of liability
By accepting a tattoo from us, you acknowledge that tattooing involves inherent risks including infection, allergic reaction, and scarring. Phantom Avenue is not liable for outcomes that result from failure to follow aftercare instructions or undisclosed medical conditions.
